Time management

It is an ambition of mine to streamline my time at the moment, so any ways to achieve this are a benefit and can end up becoming part of everyday processes.

When it comes to weekday breakfast, for me the key is preparation – often the night before. I will share my current favourite time-saver:

Spoon some muesli into an airtight container. Add some fruit (mine is often cut into bite-size pieces and frozen). Add a splash of almond milk and another splash of normal milk. Put the lid on, shake it up. Pop it into the fridge overnight.

In the morning take it out of the fridge, put it in your work bag before you dash out of the door.

Add a little more milk to taste. Eat it.

Luck (and effort) is all you need

It’s been a while. I have excuses which I shall not bore you with and they are just that – excuses. This post is likely to be mediocre at best but it’s a start at least. Or a re-start I guess, but with no pictures or gimmicks. (By the way, I’ve lost the pattern somewhere and I’m sure I should be writing about eating. Hey, it’s my blog and I am giving myself free reign on this occasion.)

I had a realisation the other day that sometimes you can put so much effort into something and it will turn out disappointingly crap. At other times you put in the bare minimum and the result is fabulous. This could relate to cooking, crafting, exercising, a relationship… And so on.

Why is this? Do we make our own successes? I believe that yes, to a point. Putting time (and/or talent) into achieving goals is entirely admirable but is there also chance involved? Such as being in the right place at the right time, geographically and emotionally speaking. Maybe. I believe that everything happens for a reason, I’ve probably said this before and I’ll probably say it again.

When all is said and done, you can only do your best. When you are safe in this knowledge, trust in the universe to give you that extra push of luck when you need it.

Service please!

Warning! A slight rant here follows… I can’t help but feel that there are too many people involved in the customer service industry who simply don’t like customers. Having been working in hospitality for a number of years it unfortunately … Continue reading

Seasoning

There was a sense of summer in the air yesterday, even though I don’t think we are yet officially in spring. I get a little confused with the seasons over here, living in Australia but still being tuned into the … Continue reading
